Addressing critical issues in Filipino education and nutrition, the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) and Caritas Philippines signed a significant agreement on June 26, 2024, at the CBCP Building in Intramuros, Manila.
The signing ceremony, officiated by Most Rev. Jose Colin M. Bagaforo, DD, President of Caritas Philippines, and Fr. Albert N. Delvo, President of CEAP, aims to elevate educational standards and provide essential nutritional support to children in impoverished communities.
Fr. Tito Caluag, Executive Director of Caritas PH, and Fr. Wilmer Tria, CEAP Corporate Secretary and Chair of the National Advocacy Commission (NAC), witnessed the event with members of the Secretariat of both organizations.
Focused initially on Kindergarten to Grade 3 students, with potential expansion to Grades 4-6, the partnership will see Caritas Philippines funding meals while CEAP offers scholarships and utilizes its school facilities.
This joint initiative underscores their shared commitment to improving the educational and physical well-being of Filipino youth.
The partnership takes effect immediately and will continue for at least two academic years, with possibilities for extension. It represents a significant step toward creating a more equitable and promising future for underprivileged Filipino students.
