  Strategic Directions

In the 2006 strategic planning workshop of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) National Board of Directors, three major growth areas were adopted for planning purposes, namely: organizational development, programs and services, and advocacy.

Under organizational development, the CEAP shall continue to pursue capability-building programs to effect transformative leadership among the school heads; to strengthen the communication system among the CEAP national office, CEAP regional offices and member-schools for a synergistic response to prevailing and emerging issues and concerns of the private education sector; and to undertake common initiatives in support of the teachings of the Church.

The CEAP national and regional offices aim at developing new programs and projects for the continuing training and development of school administrators, other school officials and faculty members.  Under this area, appropriate proposals for identified capability-building and advocacy programs and projects shall be packaged for resource generation tapping external or foreign funding agencies as well as domestic public and private institutions.

The CEAP national secretariat shall prioritize resource generation efforts for the following association-wide pillar programs to enable he regional offices and member schools to integrate these into the schools’ curricular and extra-curricular offerings.  These pillar programs are as follows:

  1. peace education program
  2. religious education
  3. environment and sustainable development education
  4. poverty alleviation through skills trainings
  5. gender and youth affairs
  6. political education through voters education

Advocacy programs put emphasis on collectively addressing at all levels, strategic and critical legal issues and concerns affecting private education which include, but not limited to, education service contracting, education voucher system, labor matters like wages, tuition fees, and taxation.

Advocacy efforts at all levels likewise aim at facilitating a collective response to issues related to the pillar programs such as climate change, environmental degradation, armed conflicts and human rights violation, graft and corruption in government, election frauds, and constitutional change, among others.
